Untropy

A lot has been going on the past few weeks, and that hasn't left much time for writing substantial content here. But, here's an attempt to catch up. I have been working on Cocoa stuff, the project, (some games), and more stuff on the site. This is, of course, in the midst of normal work and life stuff. How much can I get done during my vacation? We'll see. Read more for details.

Cocoa

I am still learning how to program in Cocoa, and it is going well. I have a few ideas (won't say much now), and once I get some level of proficiency in that, I will start work on it. So, that's that. The hardest part will be deciding on what to focus on. Should it be for the desktop, or for iPhone / iPod Touch? There is a good amount of overlap in theory, but enough differences to make working on both not so bright.

I started working on designs for this one app to interface with a popular news aggregation website (take a guess). Designing is fairly easy, but turning it into code, and writing it... more time-consuming. I got all signed up for the iPhone development program, so that's set as well. Now, it's just down to doing the work.

"The Project"

Stalled again, but still in progress. Should have a working demo of this by the end of the year (one year behind schedule, but still viable). I keep seeing stuff out there that's near the idea, but nothing exactly it. *sigh*

I hope to actually get some designs finalized and worked out next week. It's all so high-level right now, but more concrete than it was ever. Mostly down to choosing (and learning) a new framework or technology to work with it. With this site, I'm kinda locked into PHP, which isn't bad, but maybe Python and Django aren't bad? We'll see...

Usability

I have found a handful of things to put up, but just not enough time to explain them in any detail. This includes some stuff that I have found, ideas I had, and other various whatever such and such, etc.

Site

The delicious module doesn't work entirely. It used to show recently bookmarked stuff, but now does nothing of the sort. Not sure why, but not too bothered with it. Also, there are some other things I want to do to make it 'pop'. Some of my photography , and some more colorful things just to pick it up a bit. Also, I run across interesting links and other resources. Since the delicious thing isn't working, I need a better way to reference those.

I'll try to do weekly updates from now on. Maybe Mondays and Fridays.
