I think facebook is using these "top five" quizzes and fan lists to build their advertising knowledge. I've seen evidence, and actually thought to do this myself. But, with such a large user base, who are willing to do the market research for them, how could it go wrong. And, why would I make this accusation?

OK, so it's not life-and-death. Indeed, it doesn't matter so much in the long run. But, I'm still a bit sad. Seems that, over the holiday, my old computer finally bit the dust. This means I lost all my music, pictures, and projects (all that crap I'm always working on). Gone.

A lot has been going on the past few weeks, and that hasn't left much time for writing substantial content here. But, here's an attempt to catch up. I have been working on Cocoa stuff, the project, (some games), and more stuff on the site. This is, of course, in the midst of normal work and life stuff. How much can I get done during my vacation? Spore is released... finally. And, Maxis got the advertising right.

I arrived in Shang Hai yesterday afternoon, a bit tired, but mostly relieved. So far, everything has gone quite well; no bags are missing, all my paperwork made sense, and I got to eat some food (I've been told that you do not call Chinese Food chinese food in china, for obvious reasons).

Now, later will be the first day in the office, which I am quite excited about. I will take it easy today, making sure to get all my little paperwork details taken care of.
